"Clients come to Montana Catering when they want a high quality food and beverage package for their event.  Sometimes they are looking for something extra, a more complete package, and we suggest getting in an event themer to co-ordinate the look and feel of their event.  That event themer is Val at Clever Events.

We started working with Val about 10 years ago when we identified a need for events to be taken to the next level, especially when we moved into the Stadium.  As we deliver a high quality package to our clients, it is important to us that anyone we refer also delivers the same quality of service. 

What we like about Val is that you’re dealing with the person who is going to make it all work.  Val’s a great listener who quickly understands the client’s brief.  She’s then very good at coming up with ideas and suggestions to complement their brief and has a huge range of great props and the know how to make them all fit together so that the client gets what they want.  Val’s done a huge variety of themes with our clients including Christmas parties, Wild West themes, Business Awards and Rugby themes, One of our favourites was a ‘Four corners of the world’ theme that matched food for a Rowing World Cup dinner for several hundred international guests.

One of the students suggested I contact Val when I was put in charge of organising the school ball.  It was my first year organising the ball and Val came in armed with her laptop and loads of ideas – exactly what I wanted.  I was impressed with how organised she was – and I still am.  After that first year there’s no going back – it’s a given that we will use Val every year now for our school ball. The results are beautiful and she has a real talent for what she is doing.


When preparing for the ball, the kids generally have themes in mind.  Val then comes in, we tell her the theme, ask her what she’s got and she provides the magic.  Her communication is awesome – she listens as well as explains – that’s all we need.


Something else I like about Val is that she’s very friendly and easy to work with.  She listens to what you want and makes it happen – better than you could imagine it. She comes in on the day and does everything, without any stress or fuss – which is awesome as you know that it will be done to a high standard, with outstanding results.

She’s also outstanding with the kids - many people get intimidated by lots of teenagers – Val includes the kids and treats them with respect, so they really enjoy it as well.


When the kids walk in and see the room transformed into something beautiful it makes the whole process worthwhile!   I can’t recommend Val highly enough – and the biggest compliment I can pay her is that I wish I could do what she does.

I was living in Melbourne and getting married in New Zealand.  I decided I wanted the venue decorated so that there would be no stress on the day for myself, my family or my friends with arranging the venue decorations prior to or on the day.  I looked on the internet and found Val.  While I was in New Zealand I arranged an appointment to meet.   Val was so easy to deal with, was on the same page with me with what I was looking for, she didn’t try to take me down avenues I didn’t want to go and got a quote back to me promptly.  I left the first meeting with a good gut feeling about Val.
 
Throughout the process I appreciated the way Val came up with good ideas, understood the budget I had and I was impressed with her ideas to get the most out of it.  As I was in Melbourne, Val emailed me pictures of how things could look to help me better understand what I was getting.

Val showed up the day before the wedding to set everything up and also came on the day to make sure that everything was perfect - not just her work but also that everyone else’s was squared away.

Val hung black curtaining along walls which framed the hangar beautifully and lit the inside with purple and blue accent lighting (the colours of my bridal party).  She put up a beautiful fairy light wall behind the bridal table and hung fairy lights and umbrellas outside the hangar as a garden bar area.  The whole area looked perfect.  My brother in law, who owns the hangar, had people come up to him all night telling him they loved his new garden bar!  It looked awesome and has got him thinking.  (see my photos)

Val made me feel totally at ease throughout process.  She was a pleasure to deal with and I definitely got value for money.   I felt reassured that she would do everything possible to make sure I was happy with the venue and her service so I could have (and did have) a fantastic day.  Thanks Val.
