Do you want an original event concept for your school ball theme?

From previous experience, I know you've got loads of ideas to make your school ball different and new - some of your event ideas are great, some of them creative, lots of them crazy and many of them challenging.  Recent school ball themes have included Carnival (very popular in 2010), the Roaring 20s, What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas... and Winter Wonderland. Check out images from school balls in the Waikato and Auckland I've taken from ball theme ideas to events with style.

Some ball theme ideas to get you going

  • The rawness of the Roman Gladiators (who watched Spartacus?), stone and clay, chains and cells, beautiful statues, subdued lighting and that feeling of power, wealth and majesty,

  • A fun, high kicking mid-western shindig with hay bales, barns, cactus, cowboys  - this may sound hick but it provides a great night out where everyone can get involved with a little square dancing and do si doing on the side, as well as the usual grooving,

  • An evening of burlesque, Guests walk through a metro entrance into a Parisian street from where the theatre entrance is visible through the trees – a night of lights, action and romance is inside with lots of white and black satin and a lots of of classy, French burlesque...

  • A funky boogie nights evening – with the music you love to get down to, lava lamps, fibre optic deco, spandex and glitter around and those 70s inspired disco lights that get make you shake your groove thing - maybe even a few dance lessons for those who want to learn to dance like John Travolta,
